As a technology leader in many areas, LuK has developed ground-breaking products: In 1965, LuK was the first company in Europe to bring a diaphragm spring clutch onto the market and in 1985 launched the first dual mass flywheel. Current development efforts are particularly focused on components for forward-looking dual-clutch transmission systems or alternative drive concepts such as efficient sub-assemblies for economical hybrid drives. Practically every third new car in Europe and every fourth car that comes off a production line anywhere in the world is fitted with a LuK clutch. Since 2000 the company belongs (entirely) to the Schaeffler Group.
